RARE Collective is Sharon McDonagh's latest venture, along with artist and DJ Sola, their mission to champion the overlooked; the creatives, the independents and the underdogs.

 

Founded in late 2025 and built on grit, graft and a refusal to play small, RARE transforms forgotten spaces into bold creative moments with real community impact.

Sharon is the planner, curator, artist and driving force behind a series of groundbreaking charity street art events in York’s disused Low Ousegate office block, raising significant funds for local charities York Mind and SASH.

 

Alongside this, Sola curated the DJ line-ups and audio-visual side of the events, helping shape the atmosphere and energy that made them what they were.

Teaming up with other likeminded creative forces, they continue in their quest to bring art, music and creativity to the forefront of community power.
